Abstract:Through the determination of the chemical composition, mineral composition, mineral particle size, dissociation degree and mineral intergrowth relationship of the tailings from the Sijiaying iron ore deposit in eastern Hebei Province, the ways of comprehensive utilization of the tailings are analyzed, which provides a reference for the comprehensive utilization of the tailings of the same type of BIF- hosted iron deposit. The results show that Sijiaying iron ore tailings are the type of high silicon, high iron and low aluminum; the mineral compositions mainly include quartz, actinolite, diopside and feldspar, with a small amount of hematite, ankerite, osumilite, mica and other minerals; the particle size of tailings is mainly fine sand; the contents of quartz in tailings are more than 50%, and more than 66% of quartz are associated with trattnerite, and the relationship between minerals is simple. Suggestions for comprehensive utilization:①extracting high- purity quartz sands; ② the admixture and auxiliary materials of landscape brick, permeable brick, cement, concrete and other building materials; ③ the high value- added products for preparing glass and foam ceramics; ④ the preparation of chemical fertilizer and soil conditioner; ⑤ the filling materials for the Goaf areas; ⑥ the land reclamation.
