The disconformity between the Permo-Carboniferous and Middle Ordovician in western Shandong represents the principal sliding surface in the coalfields of the study area. It combines with several second-order sliding surfaces in the coal measures to form a multi-level, multi-order sliding structural system. This paper mainly analyses the features and tectonic setting of this sliding structural system and its influence on coal production.
