The ages of pumice associated with recent eruption of the Changbaishan Tianchi v olca no have been dated by the TL technique for the first time. The results are consi sten t with the historical records of the volcanic eruption and other dating methods within the er ror range. This shows that at least two events of eruption occurred with comenditic pumice since 2000 years ago in the Tianchi volcano, and also indic ates that the ages of the eruptive materials can be dated more reliably by the TL technique, which pro vides chronological evidence for resuming the recent eruptive history.
