The Geothermal resources in Henan Province are abundant.Hot springs occ ur ring in regions of igneous rocks are controled by shear structures within the upwarpin g region，but those occurring in plain regions are under the influence of the s edimentary features in the Mesozoic and Cenozoit Eras.The present situation of t he exploitation and utilization of the geothermal resources in Henan province is briefly described in this paper. The authors have put forward proposals in rega rd to the improve ment of the exploitation and utilization level and the protect i on of the geothermal resources in the study area.
