The present assessment of mineral resource potentiality is based on resource ass essment theory, assessment criteria, geographical information system(GIS), Miner al Resource Assessment System(MRAS) and corresponding data information system. T he resource assessment theory consists of the theory of localization of deposits from facies differences between various geological objectives, the theory of a nalogy of prognosticated analogous deposits and the theory of seeking commonness and differences of oreforming information. Criteria of delimitation of useful prospective areas of mineral resources include maximum ore-generating potentiali ty on the minimum area (i.e. minimum risk and maximum prospect effect), optimum assessment and comprehensive assessment on a reciprocal scale. The assessment of mineral resources is put into practice by means of MRAS and on the basis of inf ormation system consisting of geological, geophysical, geochemical and remote sensin g data and on GIS platform. The core of the present assessment of mineral resour ce potentiality is extraction, concentration, optimization and combination of or e-forming information, and demarcation of information on prospecting criteria. E rudite specialists rich in experiences are the guarantee of performance of the a ssessment of mineral resource potentiality, while complete and useful geological data are prerequisite to carry out the assessment of mineral resource potentiality.
