Gold Deposit Synthetic Information Predicting System (AuGIS) is an applied GISs ystem in the geological sector. It was developed on the basis of a domestic MAPG IS, i.e. the vector data structure of MAPGIS suited to specific geologic conditions in China. To realize the comprehensive information interpretation automation, the authors have adopted the methodology of combined GIS and ES, and successfully designed and developed automatic(or semi\|automatic)interpretation subsystems, namely geophysic, geochemic, geologic prospecting and comprehensive prognosis. The system adopts a multi\|expertise integration method to solve the problem of how to integrate the conclusions obtained from the subjects concerned. It can make full use of the space analysis functions of GIS, i.e. the combined operation of the data base and graph data base (attribute base)to realize the intellectualization and automation of prediction of mineral resources
