This paper advances a method of the information dimension analysis and explains the real meaning of the information dimension The information dimens on is the a numerical index of the asymmetry degree, complication degree, coarse ness degree and abnormity degree The anomaly map is compiled on the basis of the information dimension Then the drill hole depth data in some region are studied with the information dimension analysis and it can provide us with a great amou nt of unique information.
